Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Grippy
  • Flexible

Cons

  • Narrow
  • Very much an off-road shoe (mixed terrain and harder ground will kill it)

Editors Opinion

  • The Inov8X-Talon 212 is a very light, flexible and grippy shoe.  It will keep you grounded on the wettest of terrains, however if you are looking to wear it on harder packed turf, or a variety of terrains, you will be better off looking for a harder wearing outsole.  This shoe does what it was designed for superbly, namely, gripping on slippery ground.
  • 8/10
  • RRP £95

The Inov8 X-Talon 212 is one of Inov8's most successful shoes, winning awards and races.  It has excellent grip, and offers a snug fit.  This is designed for minimal internal movement when contouring, however can feel narrow for those with a wider foot.

Key Technologies:

  • Sticky Rubber Outsole
  • 6mm Heel-toe differential
  • Meta-flex for flexibility
  • Fascia Band to replicate the Plantar Fascia

Inov8 are synonamous in the off-road market, and the updated X-Talon 212 is the epitomy of their ideals.  It is minimal, light, flexible and grippy, and allows the foot to do what it wants to.  However, the narrow shape of the last is too narrow for a lot of people, and as such, it gets an 8 out of 10.
